Lorkins Farm Caravan and Camping Site

PLEASE NOTE. WE ARE AN ADULTS ONLY SITE AND CANNOT ACCEPT PETS ONTO THE FARM. ARRIVALS BETWEEN 10AM - 5PM ONLY.

 

Established in 1974, Lorkins Farm Caravan Site is very popular with contractors, being a quiet, secure and friendly site. Ideal for those working mainly in the Grays Thurrock, Tilbury, Brentwood and surrounding areas. Good road links to the M25 and main arterial roads A127 / A13 / A128.  A pleasant and quiet location on a working arable farm. Just outside Orsett Village which has 2 pubs serving food, a village store with Post Office and ideal for events held at the Orsett show ground. Pitches for caravans and motorhomes are located within the farm precinct. We provide clean washrooms and a laundry room (washing machine / tumble dryer at cost). We operate a coded barrier system.

 

We accept mature adults onto our well run site. Regrettably, for insurance purposes we cannot accept children or pets onto the farm. 

 

TOURING

Touring Caravans and Motorhomes only (we do not accept tents) are housed on hardstanding, all with EHU, but awnings cannot be erected.  We ask that you call first to check availability as we cannot accept arrivals without prior knowledge. We are unable to pitch units over 8 metres in length or 5th Wheel trailers. In most instances, but not guaranteed, your tow vehicle may be parked close to your pitch.

CONTRACTORS

Caravans / Motorhomes with single occupancy only. You will be required to bring your own unit as we do not have accommodation to offer you. Awnings cannot be erected. Our current weekly tariff is inclusive of electric hook up and centrally heated showers. Laundry facilities are chargeable. Pease note that tow vehicles over 3.5 tonnes cannot be parked anywhere on the farm grounds and we ask that you have your own tow vehicle to move onto and off site.

We no longer accept enquiries for rallies.

 

There are resident caretakers on site. A great place for a quiet break yet within easy reach of everything the surrounding area has to offer.

Why not hop on a train and go to London for the day?. West Horndon station is within 3 miles directly to Fenchurch Street. Ideal for The Tower of London, Westfield Shopping Centre, London Dungeons, Emirates Cable Car to Greenwich and all that London has to offer.

 

Lakeside Shopping Centre, located in West Thurrock, in the borough of Thurrock, Essex just beyond the eastern boundary of Greater London. Also at Lakeside, karting and Aqua Park.

 

Bluewater Shopping Centre, Dartford.

 

The Tilbury foot ferry is just a short car drive away. For a small fee you can cross the Thames into Gravesend.

 

Tilbury Fort, site of Queen Elizabeth 1 famous Armada speech.

 

Southend-on-Sea, is a much loved seaside resort (now with City status). Beaches and attractions.

 

Leigh on Sea, famous for seafood and historic cockle sheds. Great seafood restaurants. During the summer season booking is always advisable. Leigh High Street with independent shops, restaurants, bistros and bars. With a lively evening atmosphere.
